LG-DOW POLYCARBONATE

PC - POLYCARBONATE

As attracdtive as this plastic is, it has demonstrated a seemingly inexhaustible potential for innovation. New applications are developed every year. Polycarbonate is often used FOR TRANSPARENCY, TOUGHNESS and HEAT RESISTANCE AND to replace glass or metal in demanding applications when the temperature does not exceed 125 Polycarbonate has to be pre dried at 120°C in the appropriate dryers.

Strength

Appearance, Optical Clearity, Impact Strength, Thermal Resistance (upto 125 degrees), Food Contact, Flame Retardancy, Weatherablility, Biocompactability, Good Electrical Properties.

Applications

Packaging, Sports and Leisure, Safety Equipments, Consumer Goods, Electrical and Electronics, Toys, Consturction Glazings, Optics, Medicals, Automotive Lightining and Glazing etc. Processing temperature : 180 to 230°C Thermal damage may occur above 230°C unless the residence time in the cylinder is kept short. High thermal stress during processing will result in the formation of formaldehyde (highly odorous). Pre-drying is not necessary but can be carried out at 110°C for 2 hours is the material has become moist or if the uniformity of the material needs to be improved.
